Swallow extraordinare and lover of beautiful things! He is Thumbelina's dearest friend, a caring, easygoing, and stalwart soul.
The kindly widow who longed so for a child she went to a good witch to have one conjured up. Hard to believe, but she raised Thumbelina from when she was but a seed!
Prince Cornelius' faithful steed. Fearless and energetic, this bumblebee can be a bit hard to handle, but useful to a Fairy who wants to travel a long ways.
Once a sensation in her native Madrid, this performer is also a shrewd businesswoman. She realises her family act is in danger of going stale, and has an eye out for new blood.
Cassandra's eldest but not brightest. Much like his departed father, he tends to let his emotions get the better of him, and has been known to have a venomous temper.
The youngest Toad, and in Cassandra's eyes the baby of the family. He knows how to use this to his advantage and can generally get away with about anything, much to his brothers' annoyance.
Gringo has the misfortune of being the middle child and that has made him a bit wicked. He often goads Mozo into teasing their older brother just to watch him blow his top.
He describes himself as a "connoissuer of sweet necters, designer of rare threads, and judge of beautiful women". What that really means is he spends most of his time drinking, fiddling with fancy clothes, and chasing the girls.
It's no wonder she's never been married; you'd think a creature living below the frostline could avoid having a heart of ice. But it's true, this mouse has an eye for wealth and a distinct lack of tact.
A highly-respected, fabulously wealthy, spoiled and selfish rodent if ever there was one. Perhaps he should buy himself a book on manners - and then have someone else read it to him.
The leader of the Jitterbugs. A jolly sort, and sharp when it comes to making decisions.
Bramble's wife. She often gives him advice which he passes on as his own ideas...but she's not one to look for admiration.
Bramble and Briar's only girl, she's as cute and innocent as they come.
Bramble and Briar's smallest. He tends to blurt things out without thinking.
Bramble and Briar's eldest, though only six himself, often feels himself bearing quite a burden looking after his brother and sister.
Bramble's closest confidente. He often relays messages and runs errands, as he is a swift flier.
The sort of "school marm" in the Jitterbug community, she looks after the numerous young 'bugs and tends to their education.
