This comic strip was based on the 1999 movie Mystery Men. The film was written by Neil Cuthbert, directed by Kinka Usher, and based on the Darkhorse Comic characters of the same name created by Bob Burden. For full credits click here.

I drew this strip for fun, and am in no way affiliated with any of the parties who own copyrights to Mystery Men. But by now you've probably already guessed I'm nothing more than a fangirl. ;) I could just as easily have used original characters for this strip, since most of the storylines have nada to do with anything Mystery Men-specific but hey, I like these characters. ;)

If you've seen the movie, you might be a tad puzzled at a few minor additions I've made to the characters, such as Invisible Boy being an Internet junkie and Spleen being a freelance artist. I really only made these changes to deepen the characters and give me more to write about. And, I had planned to have the characters call oneanother by their given names more often than their superidentities because what I was trying to show was the characters in their everyday lives. Oh sure every once in a while I was going to have them battling evil but really I'm more interested in these characters for who they are on a more personal level.
