Just what is a Static Site?

A Static Site is a site that is currently not undergoing any kind of regular updates - some of them have been collecting dust for years. Rather than retire the site (I have, in fact, retired several sites entirely), I have decided to leave them up, as people can still enjoy them. However, I am stating it here (repeating myself): These sites are currently not undergoing any kind of regular updates.

Now, this is not to say that I will never update them, but I just can't say what and if anything I will ever do with them at this point. Please do not email me asking when I will go back to updating any site.
