Hey, let's face it, The Darkwing Duck show could've used all the female supervillains it could get. So here's two more.
Some time back, I wanted to drop Persuasion as a character--I don't remember why. I decided to split her personality in half (her nice side and her mean side, basically) and to create two new characters. Gyre and Gimble were the result. I've since decided to bring Persuasion back, but I also kept Gyre and Gimble.
Gyre and Gimble are a supervillain team who operate mainly in St. Canard. Unlike most supervillains, these two actually have secret identities--that is, as their ordinary alter-egos, they hold jobs, have social lives, ect. How did they get their superpowers? It's a mystery, but S.H.U.S.H. may have a file crammed waaaay back in some cabinet somewhere that could shed some light...
Gyre and Gimble are big-time criminals. Under Gimble's leadership, the duo has been responsible for robbing nearly every bank in St. Canard blind at least once, and even F.O.W.L. isn't safe from their schemes. They're both athletes, and have these neat shoes that can convert to inline skates for quick escapes.
Gyre's real name is Gayle Annalee Westhoundlin. She's a tall, thin greyhound, and she's got a cool superpower: she can control the wind. Everything from dust devils to full-blown typhoons, this chick can do it all. But she has a weakness--she doesn't like to hurt people (good thing for the good guys). In fact, she would never have become a criminal if it weren't for Gimble. Her favorite method of using her power is to generate small tornados--either around herself (yes, like the Tasmanian Devil), or to turn buildings and stuff over. She's got a glider built into her costume so she can use the wind to fly. She never uses any weapons.
Gimble's real name is Val Spotzenmeyer. She's a tall, lean cheetah, with a mean streak a kilometer long. Her superpower is a bit more complicated. My brother says it's kind of like a limited version of the Green Lantern's powers, but since I don't read DC comics, I don't know exactly how his powers work. Anyways, what Gimble can do is, she can generate this tangible energy from her fingertips: it appears in random colors, and always in the form of spirals, any size she wants. She can use the spirals flat to knock things over, squish Darkwing, ect; but usually she elongates the spirals into corkscrew-like, spinning drills which can bore through anything--and I mean anything. The stuff is harder than diamond, and cannot be cut by any means. It dematerializes a few seconds after leaving her fingers, however. When Gimble is really unleashing her powers, it looks like flashy tickertape--but believe me, that's some tickertape you don't want anywhere near the Macy's parade. Now, Gimble can, with a great deal of concentration, straighten the spirals out and use the cords of energy like rope, but Gimble's not known for her patience. This power of hers, while very destructive, is very limited. But that's OK, because Val is a cardcarrying member of the St. Canard Firearms Appreciation Association (the FAA--Negaduck's been wanting to join for years, but he doesn't like the "non-profit" part of the contract).
