- Dr. Reginald Bushroot was an unpopular research scientist at an
ivy league college. A plant specialist, his goal was to end world
hunger by enabling people to employ photosynthesis. Threatened with
having his funding revoked, Dr. Bushroot performed a
hastily-assembled experiment on himself. It worked--plus some.
His duck DNA was interlaced with a plant's, making him the
world's only mutant plant duck (Laceum nycanthropus).
Tragically, well-meaning Bushroot was forced to turn to a life of crime
to finance his further experimentation.
