The following is a list of the main characters on Hanna Barbera's show Casper and the Angels, 1979:

Casper
Yup, this is the same kid who's been searching for friends since 1945 (well that's when the character was invented, but who knows when he was supposedly born?). I feel for him. I always wonder why the mortals he makes friends with never stick around after they pass on. Guess even they can only take so much of him...Anyhow in this program Casper is, or at least he claims, a "guardian ghost," sworn to look over Mini and Maxi. A pretty cushy job, considering that Hairy does most of the gruntwork, and often the brainwork as well. Oh well. I guess when you're an institution like Casper, you get to call the shots.

Hairy Scary
(He's got icing on his back in this picture. Happens when you pop out of a cake.)
The thousand-year-old ghost who has taken Casper under his wing. A Baloo-like character, Hairy is boisterous and funloving, but cares for Casper - and the Angels too, despite his mostly hate/hate relationship with Maxi. Like the Ghostly Trio, Hairy's greatest joy comes from scaring humans, but despite this he is not nasty or mean. He is disappointed that Casper isn't interested in scaring people, and reminds the small ghost ocassionally that scaring people is what ghosts do. But, afterlife goes on, and Hairy is content to laze about the Angels' apartment, scare the pants off of criminals, and keep an eye on Casper.

Officer Mini
She's got a squeaky voice and a mind like a seive, but Mini is a good sort. Perhaps a little too "good" to be an officer of the law, but whatever floats her boat. She seems to get along with everyone, which is possibly to everyone's advantage considering who her partner and roommate is.

Officer Maxi
I realize that Maxi is probably supposed to be a "headstrong" woman character, but really, she's just a B*tch, with a capital B. HOWEVER, I do belive that this makes her a good officer - at least, she more than makes up for Mini's shortcomings in that department. She's not afraid of anything, she doesn't trust anyone (often, that includes her own friends), and she doesn't care whose feelings she bashes. Still, as stated, she and Mini do compliment eachother very nicely, both in the professional and personal categories.

The Commander
Usually just seen on the station monitor giving assignments. If I get more information on him I'll post it, but somehow I don't think there's much more to him.

Officer Nerdly
Although he isn't any smarter than his partner/roommate Fungo, Nerdly is the more assertive - which means that its invariably his fault when the duo get into trouble. He's jealous of the girls' professional success and I believe he convinces Fungo to follow suit.

Officer Fungo
Fungo is just sort of...there most of the time, backing up Nerdly. He's bigger and appears much stronger than his partner, so he probably gets stuck doing most of the brutework. But he's very easygoing and never complains - unless, that is, Nerdly tells him to.
